Dear Friend,

Thank you again to all our partners and community stakeholders who responded to our survey and participated in our strategic planning process. On April 29, Advocacy and Communications Solutions provided our board with an update. Now our job is to condense what we heard into a coherent strategic plan that will serve the needs of youth across Summit County from cradle to career.

I also want you to save this very important date, Sept. 18, 2024, for our annual Their Success Is Our Success event at Greystone Hall. We will report on the educational progress of our community, and we will review our strategic plan in full detail.  Our team here at SEI is very excited to share our work so stay tuned.

And before I forget, to all of our high school graduating seniors across Summit County, congratulations and good luck on all of your future endeavors!

2024 School Readiness Summit

After careful consideration, we are cancelling the 2024 School Readiness Summit, which was originally scheduled for Oct. 18 at the John S. Knight Center. This decision is part of our broader strategic plan which involves evaluating our programs and initiatives to ensure they align with our organizational goals and objectives. We apologize for the inconvenience and for any disruption to your plans. This decision was not made lightly and is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the impact and effectiveness of our initiatives. We look forward to sharing updates on future initiatives and opportunities that align with our renewed strategic direction.

Chronic absenteeism in Summit County public schools

Chronic absenteeism is a significant issue impacting students, families and schools across the nation.
